Banzpay recognises the importance of protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy tells you what personal information we collect, what we do with it and your rights to request access to and correction of personal information we hold about you.


In this Privacy Policy, Banzpay, our, us and we means Banzpay Technology Limited (trading as Banzpay) and you means any user of our Website.


Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. It applies to any personal information that you provide to Banzpay or authorise us to collect. By providing Banzpay with personal information, or using our Website available at www.banzpay.nz or other services, you authorise us to collect, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. 


What personal information do we collect?

The personal information we collect will depend on your interaction with us. As part of our operations we may collect the following types of personal information about you:


  1. customer information (e.g., contact details about your representatives, and personal information that we collect from you and your representatives to comply with our customer due diligence obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Act 2009)
  2. customer support and service details (e.g., to manage our relationship with you, provide you with our services, respond to queries or complaints)
  3. technical information (e.g., information that we automatically collect when you access or use our Website, such as IP address, browser type or  cookie information)
  4. any other personal information that you provide to us or authorise us to collect. 


Providing your personal information will always be optional for you, however, we may not be able to respond to your request or some services may not be available to you if you choose not to provide it.


We may also collect and hold personal information on behalf of financial institutions and other customers as part of the services that we provide to them. We hold that personal information as an agent for the relevant customer. The personal information that we collect and hold in that capacity, is subject to the relevant customer’s Privacy Policy and it is not governed by this Privacy Policy. 


Aggregated information

We may also collect aggregated data. This information is generated by our systems as they track traffic through our sites. This information does not identify you personally and is not linked to

 the personal information that you may have provided. The aggregated data (where identifiable characteristics are removed, so that you will remain anonymous) may be used by us or shared with third parties such as advertisers or business partners.


How do we collect your personal information?

Generally, we collect personal information directly from you. We may also collect your personal information from a third party if you have authorised them to provide, or authorised us to collect, that information. For example, we may also collect personal information about you and your use of our Website through the use of automatic data collection tools. These tools collect certain standard information about your access and computer, such as your browser type, operating system and language, access times and your Internet Protocol (IP) address.

What do we do with your personal information?

We collect your personal information in order to provide the best possible service to you while you are visiting our Website or otherwise to facilitate or manage our relationship with you.

Who do we share your personal information with?

We may share your personal information for the purposes set out in this policy with the following parties:

  1. Our third party suppliers (such as our third party hosting providers). Our agreements with service providers require them to protect your personal information from any use or disclosure that we have not authorised.
  2. Our related companies and organisations who assist us with the operation of our business.
  3. Authorities, regulators and professional advisers (including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers).
  4. Third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or our assets.
  5. Any other party that you have authorised or that is otherwise permitted by law. 


Transferring your personal information outside New Zealand

Occasionally we may need to send your personal information overseas (e.g., to our third party hosting providers). We will ensure that any such transfer of personal information will only be undertaken in compliance with applicable privacy laws.


What about cookies?

What about links to third party websites (e.g, our advertisers and business partners)?

From time to time, our Website may contain links to and from other websites. If you follow a link to any of those sites, please note that those sites ought to have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for those sites or for their privacy policies. You should check their privacy policies before providing personal information to them or any other third party.


Can we change this Privacy Policy?

As our business is developing constantly, we reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time by publishing an updated version on our Website. The updated version of our Privacy Policy will take effect immediately upon publication (or, if applicable, on the date specified in the updated Privacy Policy) and will apply to all personal information that we hold about you.  If the changes are likely to be material to information that we hold about you, we may also take additional steps to bring the changes to your attention, as required by law, including by notifying you directly.
